The pilot's voice came over the intercom, ''Welcome to Yellowknife, local time is 6:50 p.m., temperature - 28 Celsius.'' While I wasn't sure what that meant, it didn't sound good. Quickly I scoured my memory for the conversion tables to give me Fahrenheit. Let;s see, carry the two, divide by five... I honestly didn't remember how to do it--but anything with a minus sign in front is still didn't sound very good to me.
