I told Hal about a great shot I had made on a huge elk in Montana a few years back. Even with the Boone and Crockett system,that elk would have scored 380 points.
''Well,'' Hal said, ''you should have taken it in to an official Boone and Crockett scorer.''
''How could I do that?'' I said. ''I missed the elk. But only by an inch. So now you tell me I can't be in the Boone and Crockett because of one lousy inch! that's what I mean, Hal--you B and C guys are just too fussy.''
This vary true, this has happen to my dad many times. I think that the record would be in the 1000s though. I will a mite one thing is that Boone and Crockett scoring is off. One of my friends got a scoring guide and he on a elk scored 402. The Boone and Crockett scored 160s. There way off!
