STEWARD Yes, sir.
ROBERT What am I?
STEWARD What are you, sir.
ROBERT Yes: what am I? Am I Robert, squire of Baudricourt and captain of this castle of Vaucouleurs; or am I a cowboy.

green is a participial phrase.
yellow is a prepositional phrase.
purple is a absolute phrase.
blue is a adjective clause.

Trying to be funny, I like Shaw way of writing better then Twain's. Twain is trying to set the picture in your head that Joan is a young beautiful girl on a white horse, who was wearing white armor. She was brave and a saint. Shaw makes it more realistic to me. He even said no man in her camp called her prettyTo me Shaw is a lot more interesting. Come on, there was no cowboy in those days.
